Hello Ron,
maybe it is possible?
I cannot make plans for such a long time in future.
A lot of things have changed at work and are going to change there, too.
But I can ask my friends for special aims and places you must see.
The most important will be to find guarded parkings.
Main aim should be the area around the Tatra mountains.
A nice place in winter and also for summer holidays.
And mountains mean also turns.
Greetings
Frank |

Hi guys,
what a great developement! Frank, just like you I cannot plan as far into the future! But I think we should keep an eye on the idea. And I would love to meet you in person (just like many others here on the board whom I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet) - not only because I'm confident it would be great to have you as our experienced tourguide.
Anyway, the idea of a nice motorbike-trip next year, maybe even with a little bit of planning, will keep me warm in the coming cold months...
Best regards,
Thomy
Where did I put that map of Poland??? |

Oh yes, it becomes autumn! The sweater under the jacket was the right choice, otherwise it would have been too frosty today. The sun could be seen also from time to time, but considering its seasonal weakness, there was no chance to rise the temperature. But nevertheless: it remained dry throughout all of our 433 km.
From the bridge started together: Uwe, Jens, Stefan, Boris+Tina, our "international" new "acquisitions" Evan and Tito and mine one. We were discarded by Frank, which could not join us today.

It went over the A115 up to the Berlin Ring, which we followed into eastern direction. On the motorway A12 we stopped behind the exit Storkow on a parking lot, in order to gather Dani and Hardy (on one bike) and Norman (GS-Forum). Afterwards we continued the tour driving now with nine machines and eleven people.
We reached the border, which we could pass also briskly. It went far on the motorway 2, which we left immediately at the city of Rzepin. Here we inserted also a first refuel stop and used the opportunity for a small lunch.
Our bikes, with which it stood today 6:3 for BMW, excited also some attention. Everybody watched them, so we did also.
Strengthened we started again in order to explore the area on side streets. It went first into northern direction toward Osno Lubuskie, where we turned again to the east and came to Sulecin. From there it went again north over Krzeszyce (who can pronounce it?) to Nowiny.
From here the tour became really excitingly: because actually it should go further north to Tarnow. However we did not find the departure and came to stand at a lay-by somewhere in the deep forest and inserted a short orientation break.
Interestingly enough my map and a map of walks attached at the place did not cover themselves at all. So the route became to discovery journey. How we finally found the village Tarnow, with the best will I can't say. I only remember darkly that we had to turn on a road, because the asphalt road mutates to a dirt road and the send out scouts (we had enough GS-drivers with us) reported that the condition would not change.
Anyhow we arrived nevertheless at Tarmow and were back on the planned route. It continued to go west over Barnowko to Debno, where we turned off to Mieszkowice. We passed the city fast. It would have been exciting to look for the castle and encounter any inheritances of the brandenburgian Askanien, which were once exterminated here, because it is still unsettled, how "Heinrich the Younger" came once to death, but we preferred it to continue our journey and inserted briefly on a further rest at the Moryn' lake.
Here I received a small lesson in driving deep sand. Evan pointed me, how curves could be driven on really bad ground.
There is also a video available. But regard to the load time, because it has
about 4 MB! Klick me
From Moryn to the german border was not far away. Near by Cedynia we inserted first a further refuel stop.
Directly next door we entered a small restaurant and took our postponed lunch break.
The meal was great, even if the meat was "unfortunately" only roasted. As it had turned out, we had a little "Vampire" among us - or was it the reincarnation of Hannibal Lecter?
After the sumptuous meal we started to our homeland and passed the border, which was now fuller of waiting cars. Passing Hohenwutzen we reached Oderberg, because we did not want to omit the nice curves there. At the "Schiffshebewerk" (ship lift station) we made a short break, which we also had to use to say goodbye.
Dani, Hardy and Norman started the way home shorter from here and on the following distance over the B167 passing Eberswalde, Liebenwalde, Liebenberg, Nassenheide and over the B96, Uwe, Stefan, Tito and Evan also turned off. With four people we reached the bridge and let the day end there, it was already 8.30 p.m.
It was a great day! I guess, that the distances will become shorter now again. And for sure, I will rig my clothes with the thermo inlays this week! By the way: it was also an interesting feeling to have a diplomatic vehicle in the entourage.
Up to next time! More pictures are to be find in the gallery of my homepage.
Regards Ron |
